Soyuz Bilingual School was born as a dream in the heart of Professor Olga de Chanis. With the initiative to create an institution that ensures mastery of the English language, without neglecting our mother tongue, Spanish, as a way to promote the success of its graduates and in response to the need for a school that would educate in values through experience—a school that would fully fulfill its role, promoting sports, culture, art, civic awareness, technological innovation, and respect for human dignity.

Soyuz Bilingual School opened its doors in March 1997 and was formalized with Decree No. 95 of May 25, 1999, signed by the then Minister of Education, Lic. Pablo Antonio Thalasinos. The school began on the lands and property of the Chanis family, with an enrollment of 22 students, distributed in nursery, pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, first, and second grade. Today, the institution continues to operate in the Canta Rana urbanization, Carmen Salerno street, Chitré, Herrera Province, Republic of Panama.

In March 2001, the first building with modern specifications was inaugurated, followed by the construction of new expansions and uninterrupted investments to the present date.

Our first high school graduating class completed their studies in December 2011. It has been 28 years of effort and collaborative work with a top-notch teaching staff, supported by the shared collaboration of parents who strengthen the educational process with their work and support.

The school's impact on the community has been significant. The quality and fluency with which our students handle the English and Spanish languages are clearly demonstrated during the Shakespeare and Cervantes Weeks; annual activities designed to promote and motivate the use of these languages.

We organize the Science Fair, Theater Productions, Judo, Classical Ballet, Music Band, and the uniqueness of our Folkloric Ensemble, which is already gaining international recognition. In addition, physical education emphasizes not only traditional sports such as basketball, baseball, and soccer but also tennis, volleyball, chess, table tennis, etc.

Soyuz Bilingual School, from its foundation until the year 2023, was under the academic direction of its founder, Mrs. Olga F. Chanis. Starting in 2024, the role of Academic Director was assumed by Mr. Ronald Escobar, while maintaining the outstanding work of Mr. Eustiquio Chanis as Administrative Director and Beáta de Ruiz as Academic Subdirector.
